CVBL: Orlando Wins
Buchanan continues to dominate the league and helped Orlando post an expected win over Indiana, 106-105. The game was a solid team effort, but Buchanan - a favorite for post-season honors - was outstanding, completely overshadowing a great performance by Indiana key player, Henderson.
Buchanan's coach, Bob, had nothing but praise for his star. "He's just special. It's something just to sit back and watch him do his thing. He certainly brings pride to Orlando fans everywhere." Indiana coach Coach Hitch was concilliatory after the game as well. "When Buchanan is doing his thing, you just hope you can keep him under control. We didn't, though Henderson certainly did his part. We really thought we could win this game, so the locker room is pretty quiet right now. We'll just have to turn our focus to next week."
Orlando was led by Buchanan (33 points, 2 steals), Free (21 points), Boyd (11 points, 1 assists, 2 blocks). Indiana was led by Henderson (12 points, 22 boards, 4 assists, 2 blocks), Mack (14 points, 5 boards, 13 assists, 2 steals), Battle (26 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, a steal).
Orlando extended their winning streak 5 games and improve to 32-14 and 21-3 at home. They hold at #1 in the Southeast and hold at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference. Indiana drop to 18-27. They move down to #3 in the Central and move down to #10 overall in the Eastern Conference.
