CVBL: No Contest as Detroit Stomps Philadelphia
After the game was over, Philadelphia left the stadium with their heads between their legs after being on the losing end of a 121-88 blowout against Detroit. In the post-game press conference, Detroit coach David Smith spoke of how his team came out ready to play and didn't let up once they got ahead. Led by Gilliam, Detroit was able to hold off the few runs made by Philadelphia. Coach Bob of Philadelphia said, "I really thought we had a chance to win this game. Hopefully next game we will come out ready to play. Maybe I need to take our ping pong table out of the clubhouse."
Detroit was led by Gilliam (19 points, 7 boards, 3 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Shaw (13 points, 2 steals), Henderson (14 points, 11 boards, 1 assists). Philadelphia was led by Evans (17 points, 5 boards, 3 assists), Wilson (10 points), Martinez (15 points, a steal).
Detroit extended their winning streak 7 games and improve to 40-5. They stay at #1 in the Central and remain at #1 overall in the Eastern Conference. With the defeat, Philadelphia fall to 29-18 and 22-5 at home. They remain at #3 in the Atlantic and stay at #5 overall in the Eastern Conference.
