CVBL: Bob Disapointed as Atlanta Wins in Overtime
Atlanta survived a great Toronto outing, winning 130-124 in overtime. It was supposed to have been an easy game, but Toronto coach Bob had his team well-prepared and able to complete with favored Atlanta. Said Bush, "We thought Coach's pep talk was a little far-fetched, when he was telling us that we had the talent and game plan to win this game. But he was right; we had our chances to win and didn't. Still we have to feel good about what we proved against a great team like Atlanta."
Atlanta coach Bob was clearly relieved to have gotten the win. "That was a great team we played against today - don't let their record fool you. I thought we played a solid game, and even that wasn't enough to win during regulation."
Atlanta was led by Laws (36 points, 7 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks), Baker (26 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Rawlings (20 points, 0 assists, 3 steals). Toronto was led by Bush (25 points, 16 boards, 1 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Boll (36 points, 1 assists, a steal), Starks (12 points).
With the win, Atlanta stand at 24-22 and 17-8 at home. They remain at #1 in the Southeast and hold at #3 overall in the Eastern Conference. Toronto drop to 18-30 after this defeat. They hold at #5 in the Atlantic and stay at #13 overall in the Eastern Conference.
