CVBL: Philadelphia 90, Atlanta 77

Philadelphia overpowered Atlanta today, showing who is the better team. Most around the league expected this kind of result, but Atlanta head coach Bob was defiant until game time. "Underdogs, my ----. We've got enough talent and enough heart to play with anybody in the league." Afterwards, his tune had changed significantly. "We've got some work ahead of us before we can play at their level."

The only bright point for Atlanta was the great play by Fanny, and Bob was quick to praise his star. "If the whole team had played with his energy, we'd have been able to play with Philadelphia. The bright side is that we know what he can do against them, and we'll try to build on that for our next meeting."

Philadelphia was led by Hargrove (29 points, 8 boards, 2 assists), Alston (5 points, 3 steals), Mcdougal (18 points). Atlanta was led by Fanny (19 points, 9 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks), Archie (11 points, 5 assists), Sonnier (12 points, 4 assists, a steal).

After the victory, Philadelphia jump to 30-16. They stay at #1 in the Atlantic and remain at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference. Atlanta have been beaten in the past 6 games and drop to 16-30 and 9-12 at home. They remain at #4 in the Southeast and remain at #13 overall in the Eastern Conference.
