CVBL: Brooklyn Surprises Indiana 112-102
Owens went on fire for 41 points, helping a much-improved Brooklyn team to pull off the 112-102 upset of Indiana today. "That's the best we've played all season," said Brooklyn coach Bob. "I've seen that potential in us all along, but for some reason it hasn't come out during games. Hopefully this outing can be the turning point for us that we can build on in future games."
Indiana was caught off-guard by new-look Brooklyn. "What we got out there today wasn't what we had seen before or on tape, even in their best games. So while we always try to prepare for the worst, we had no idea that they could play as well as they did today. I still think we can beat them, and next time we'll have an idea what to look for."
Brooklyn was led by Owens (41 points, 2 steals, 5 blocks), Jackson (7 points, 4 steals), Hazan (15 points, 3 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks). Indiana was led by Craig (23 points, 6 boards, 0 assists), Cato (19 points, 1 assists, a steal), Williams (16 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, a steal).
Brooklyn are now 28-17 and 18-7 at home. They hold at #1 in the Atlantic and hold at #3 overall in the Eastern Conference. Indiana stand at 29-17 with this loss. They stay at #3 in the Central and hold at #6 overall in the Eastern Conference.
