CVBL: Minnesota Upends Portland
Bob is a believer in destiny now. After running up a $300 phone bill talking with a fortune teller he saw advertised on cable TV, his Minnesota team managed to upset favored Portland Bob-Bob.
"It was crazy. I called her up, and she knew I was the Minnesota coach. She saw the whole game before it happened. She told me we needed to build our game around Edwards, and that sure worked out well. She was telling me their entire gameplan, I couldn't take notes fast enough. She saw that King was going to have a big day for Portland, but not to worry about him and focus on the rest of the team. The best part was she told me at the end that it was destiny for us to win this game. Destiny."
Asked what he thought about Bob's experience, Portland coach Bob replied simply: "No comment".
Minnesota was led by Edwards (16 points, 14 boards, 1 assists, a block), Kaplan (19 points, 6 boards, 3 assists), Boll (25 points, a block). Portland was led by King (19 points, 5 boards, 4 assists, a steal), Hume (7 points, 5 boards, 10 assists), Williams (14 points).
Minnesota snapped their losing streak at 5 games, and jump to 14-32. They stay at #5 in the Northwest and hold at #12 overall in the Western Conference. Portland drop to 27-20 and 18-8 at home with this defeat. They hold at #2 in the Northwest and hold at #5 overall in the Western Conference.
