CVBL: Houston Upends Brooklyn 111-107

A gutsy outing by Houston, combined with a few breaks, gave them a 111-107 upset of Brooklyn. Brooklyn was the favorite coming in, and it showed when they were sharp. But Brooklyn played their hearts out and stuck around, which put them in position to capitalize on what chances they were given. "They played about the perfect game, given the team's talent," said Brooklyn coach Bob. "[Houston coach] Bob did a splendid job getting them ready for the game, and they didn't give us anything for free."

Said Houston star Marchese, "Coach just told us to go out there and stay focused. Told us that if we played a mistake-free game, it could be ours to win. And that's exactly what happened."

Houston was led by Marchese (29 points, 11 boards, 1 assists, a block), Allbritton (11 points, 6 boards, 0 assists, 4 blocks), Frazier (16 points, 2 assists, a steal). Brooklyn was led by Foster (38 points, 3 assists, 2 steals), Rosemond (17 points, 9 boards, 0 assists, a steal), Starks (8 points, 10 assists, a steal).

Houston have won their last 8 games and stand at 19-27 and 11-14 at home. They remain at #4 in the Southwest and hold at #10 overall in the Western Conference. Brooklyn are now 25-22. They remain at #4 in the Atlantic and drop to #8 overall in the Eastern Conference.
