CVBL: New Orleans Upsets Memphis
New Orleans got just enough breaks to upset Memphis, 111-104. The pace of play was clearly dictated by Memphis, showing who was the better team. But New Orleans came up with the right plays at the right times to convert more scoring chances and come away with the win.
"We got our share of luck today," acknowledged New Orleans coach Bob. "They pretty much dictated the game but we were able to get the job done when it mattered. Raymond really helped us out there; we couldn't have pulled it off without him."
New Orleans was led by Raymond (30 points, 5 boards, 1 assists), Gimbrone (25 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, a block), Eugene (19 points, 7 boards, 2 assists, a block). Memphis was led by Adams (21 points, 2 assists, 2 blocks), Eugene (11 points, 6 assists, 3 steals), Martin (5 points, 9 assists, a steal).
New Orleans improve to 19-29 and 13-12 at home with the victory. They hold at #5 in the Southwest and hold at #11 overall in the Western Conference. Memphis are now 26-22 after this defeat. They remain at #2 in the Southwest and stay at #6 overall in the Western Conference.
