CVBL: Minnesota Downs Brooklyn
Minnesota looked like champions today, beating Brooklyn 101-89. "That's the best we've seen them for a while," said an overwhelmed Brooklyn coach Bob. "None of the tapes we had of them showed the fluid execution that we saw out there today, and frankly we just weren't prepared as well as they were. I take full responsibility for that; with better preparation we could have won. Instead they just took over the game and never let us back in."
Minnesota was led by Dirks (22 points, 7 boards, 6 assists, 2 blocks), Smith (28 points, 4 assists, 2 steals), Daniels (18 points, 17 boards, 2 assists, a block). Brooklyn was led by Spring (31 points, 2 blocks), Hester (9 points, 12 boards, 2 assists, a steal, a block), Alves (14 points, 7 boards, 1 assists, a steal, a block).
Minnesota improve to 27-19 after the victory. They remain at #3 in the Northwest and hold at #7 overall in the Western Conference. Brooklyn fall to 21-25 and 12-12 at home with the loss. They stay at #3 in the Atlantic and stay at #6 overall in the Eastern Conference.
