CVBL: Milwaukee Wins 103-92
A great game by Mitchel led Milwaukee to a 103-92 defeat of Portland. Although Portland certainly planned for Mitchel in their pre-game strategy, stopping him during the game turned out to be more of a challenge. "We thought we knew how to beat Milwaukee, but we were dead wrong," said Portland coach Bob. "We figured we'd try to put them out of their game plan and try to limit Mitchel's effectiveness, but it simply didn't happen - he was just too good."
Said Mitchel, "I knew I had a target on my back, and took it as a challenge. If they're going to change their game plan to stop me, it gives me that much more desire to step up and perservere. Anyway, they know what I can do now, so we'll see if they dare try this strategy again." Tune in next time.
Milwaukee was led by Mitchel (19 points, 8 boards, 0 assists, a block), Williams (16 points, 8 boards, 1 assists), Reynolds (12 points, 9 boards, 0 assists, a block). Portland was led by Chapple (24 points, 3 blocks), Arnold (9 points, 9 boards, 3 assists, a block), Ortega (22 points, a steal).
After the victory, Milwaukee stand at 33-14 and 19-6 at home. They hold at #1 in the Central and remain at #1 overall in the Eastern Conference. Portland keep stumbling with a losing streak of 16 games and stand at 12-35. They remain at #5 in the Northwest and remain at #15 overall in the Western Conference.
