CVBL: Utah Wins 99-79
Utah posted a solid 99-79 win over Phoenix today. "I don't think we left any doubt over who was the better team today," said Utah coach Coach Young. "We pretty much did whatever we wanted out there, and I don't think they ever figured out what to do about Sparenberg's play."
It will be a tough task for Phoenix coach Bob to get his team up for their next game. "We really came in believing that we had a shot to win this one, but obviously that didn't happen. They outplayed us from the start, and there weren't too many happy faces in the locker room afterwards."
Utah was led by Sparenberg (7 points, 6 boards, 11 assists, 2 steals, a block), Robinson (25 points), Jones (17 points, a block). Phoenix was led by Celaya (17 points, 1 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Fripp (26 points), King (11 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks).
With this win, Utah improve to 37-10. They hold at #1 in the Northwest and hold at #3 overall in the Western Conference. After the defeat, Phoenix are now 25-24 and 15-10 at home. They hold at #3 in the Pacific and hold at #9 overall in the Western Conference.
