CVBL: Denver Over Brooklyn
Denver beat Brooklyn today in a 95-94 game that was close the whole way. For much of the game, it looked like Brooklyn would be able to pull off the win, thanks in large part to an outstanding performance by Lee. But the tide finally turned in the end, with Denver star Phillips leading his team to victory.
"Definitely a great game," said Denver coach Bob after the game. "The fans got their money's worth out of it, and both teams put up a good fight. We're just glad that we were able to finish strong and get the W. Phillips was a big part of that, and I don't think we'd have won without his efforts."
Denver was led by Phillips (14 points, 8 boards, 6 assists, 3 blocks), Ferguson (12 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, a steal), Schmidt (13 points, 1 assists, a steal). Brooklyn was led by Lee (8 points, 14 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals, a block), Olson (27 points, a steal, 2 blocks), Alves (18 points, 13 boards, 0 assists, a steal).
Denver improve to 30-19 and 18-9 at home with the victory. They hold at #2 in the Northwest and hold at #5 overall in the Western Conference. With this defeat, Brooklyn are now 32-15. They hold at #2 in the Atlantic and stay at #4 overall in the Eastern Conference.
