CVBL: Toronto 110, Atlanta 98
Toronto showed their mettle today with a convincing 110-98 win over Atlanta. "After some of the games we've had, I think we've left some doubt as to whether we can solidly beat anybody," said head coach Bob after the game. "I don't know that one game will erase those doubts, but I can certainly see the difference in the locker room."
The win came largely as the result of a great effort by Plungis, the Toronto star. Said Bob of him, "The game would have gone down to the wire without Plungis's efforts today. He really made the difference between another tough battle and a dominating win."
Toronto was led by Plungis (16 points, 15 boards, 2 assists, 5 blocks), Hunter (22 points, 12 assists, a block), Whitaker (14 points, 2 steals, a block). Atlanta was led by Fanny (16 points, 5 assists, 2 steals), Sonnier (13 points, 6 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals), Harriott (22 points, 0 assists, a block).
Toronto stand at 28-22 and 14-11 at home. They hold at #3 in the Atlantic and hold at #6 overall in the Eastern Conference. Atlanta extended their losing streak 7 games and drop to 16-31. They hold at #4 in the Southeast and stay at #13 overall in the Eastern Conference.
