CVBL: Bob Watches LA Clippers Win
LA Clippers overcame a great game by Jackson, beating Portland 98-89. "It's a team sport," said losing coach Bob. "If we had another couple players like Jackson out there, we'd have won this game easily. But we didn't, so we didn't." Bob has been under fire lately, and the lackluster performance by his players (save Jackson) certainly doesn't improve his job security any.
The normally-quiet Jackson was less than satisfied after the game. "I feel betrayed - like I did my best and my teammates didn't. I don't know if it was coach's fault for not getting the team up, or if the other players just all had an off day at the same time. But this was a close game, we had our chances, and we didn't execute when we needed."
LA Clippers was led by Brown (34 points, 8 boards, 0 assists, 3 blocks), Murphy (19 points, 16 boards, 1 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Patrick (17 points, 1 assists, 3 blocks). Portland was led by Jackson (21 points, 11 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Kimbell (16 points, 2 blocks), Smith (11 points, a steal).
LA Clippers jump to 35-13. They stay at #2 in the Pacific and hold at #4 overall in the Western Conference. With this defeat, Portland stand at 33-16 and 15-8 at home. They remain at #1 in the Northwest and stay at #3 overall in the Western Conference.
