CVBL: Boston Takes out San Antonio in a Big Upset
Despite being dominated all day, underdog Boston came away with the 112-94 upset of San Antonio. "What a strange game," remarked Boston coach Bob afterwards. "San Antonio were by far the better team today, but couldn't get the win. If I hadn't been keeping track of the score, I'd have thought we lost badly. But somehow we came out on top."
The sense of disbelief was apparent in the San Antonio locker room afterwards. "We thought we did everything right," said star Stroman. "We executed our game plan, both on offense and defense, and did what we needed to do. But a few plays make or break the game, and those all went the wrong way. Just a demoralizing way to lose."
Boston was led by Washington (15 points, 2 steals), Preston (15 points, 4 assists), Orr (21 points). San Antonio was led by Stroman (16 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, 3 blocks), Lynch (15 points, 1 assists, 2 blocks), Galloway (11 points, 6 assists).
Boston improve to 16-31 with today's win. They stay at #5 in the Atlantic and hold at #12 overall in the Eastern Conference. With today's loss, San Antonio are now 26-22 and 17-8 at home. They remain at #2 in the Southwest and drop to #7 overall in the Western Conference.
