CVBL: Bob Watches Oklahoma Cty Win

A solid outing by Golden led Oklahoma Cty to a 114-107 win over Houston. "Take away Golden, and we'd have won this thing," said Houston coach Bob. "It was a very close game most of the way, and he was the one that put Oklahoma Cty over the top. I thought we had the right game plan and executed well. What's sad is that I don't know what we'd do differently next time, except for hoping for a more mortal performance by him."

Oklahoma Cty coach Bob was happy for the win, but concerned about the team's play. "I didn't think this was a very good team win. Our players seemed tempted to sit around and watch Golden do his stuff. That was enough for the win today, but on another day maybe Golden will be injured or our opponents can counter him, and we'll need the rest of the players to step up as well."

Oklahoma Cty was led by Golden (28 points, 5 assists, a block), Joseph (18 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks), Hernandez (8 points, 2 steals). Houston was led by Battle (19 points, 14 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, a block), Sims (16 points, 9 boards, 3 assists, 2 blocks), Lewis (28 points, 1 assists).

Oklahoma Cty stand at 35-20 and 22-9 at home. They hold at #2 in the Northwest and remain at #5 overall in the Western Conference. Houston stand at 37-17 with the defeat. They hold at #2 in the Southwest and remain at #4 overall in the Western Conference.
