CVBL: Boston Surprises Detroit
Triplett's great game led Boston to a 110-93 upset of Detroit. "He really gave us the win," said winning coach Bob. "I think the rest of the team really felt intimidated coming in, but Triplett showed them that we could pull off the win. You could really see the confidence build as time went on."
Degraff paced Detroit, but his effort was not enough. "It's easy to blame the star when we come up short," said Detroit coach David Smith. "But really, if we all played like him we'd have won. It's just that we sometimes take him for granted and sit around watching him dominate. Today's game served as a wake-up call for the rest of the team."
Boston was led by Triplett (27 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, 3 blocks), Davis (13 points, 7 assists, 3 steals), Golden (5 points, 11 boards, 4 assists, 2 blocks). Detroit was led by Degraff (20 points, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Day (12 points, 5 assists, a steal), Martin (17 points, 3 blocks).
With the victory, Boston stand at 19-38 and 13-16 at home. They hold at #5 in the Atlantic and stay at #15 overall in the Eastern Conference. Detroit are now 32-23 with today's loss. They remain at #4 in the Central and hold at #8 overall in the Eastern Conference.
