CVBL: 113-89 New York

New York beat Oklahoma Cty by a score of 113-89, even catching some fans off guard. "We knew the lines in Vegas listed us as favorites," said New York coach Bob. "And we knew we had a great shot going in, but really expected a more competitive game. I don't know whether we were really that good or whether they had something else on their minds. Whatever, we're thrilled to get this kind of win over an excellent team like Oklahoma Cty."

Said Oklahoma Cty star Johnson, "Coach kept yelling at us 'you know you're better than that,' and he was right. We just didn't have the intensity or whatever today, and it showed in our game. The good thing is that we know we can't play much worse than we did out there, and that we could have won if we'd played as good as we're capable of playing."

New York was led by Chatman (8 points, 13 assists, 4 steals), Crawford (13 points, 3 assists, 5 blocks), Powell (16 points, 11 boards, 0 assists). Oklahoma Cty was led by Johnson (12 points, 12 boards, 1 assists, a block), Walston (8 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, 3 blocks), Blake (16 points, a block).

New York stand at 43-11. They remain at #1 in the Atlantic and stay at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference. Oklahoma Cty drop to 26-30 and 16-10 at home. They stay at #4 in the Northwest and remain at #9 overall in the Western Conference.
