CVBL: Memphis Beats Golden State 83-75
Memphis beat Golden State today in a 83-75 game that was close the whole way. For much of the game, it looked like Golden State would be able to pull off the win, thanks in large part to an outstanding performance by Cordner. But the tide finally turned in the end, with Memphis star Whitfield leading his team to victory.
"Definitely a great game," said Memphis coach Bob after the game. "The fans got their money's worth out of it, and both teams put up a good fight. We're just glad that we were able to finish strong and get the W. Whitfield was a big part of that, and I don't think we'd have won without his efforts."
Memphis was led by Whitfield (21 points, 10 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Calloway (18 points, a steal), Manly (12 points, 2 steals). Golden State was led by Cordner (11 points, 21 boards, 3 assists), Chiles (12 points, 3 assists, 3 steals), Reeve (13 points, 7 boards, 2 assists).
