CVBL: New Orleans Takes Out Dallas
Howie's great game led New Orleans to a 120-113 upset of Dallas. "He really gave us the win," said winning coach Bob. "I think the rest of the team really felt intimidated coming in, but Howie showed them that we could pull off the win. You could really see the confidence build as time went on."
Simpson paced Dallas, but his effort was not enough. "It's easy to blame the star when we come up short," said Dallas coach Bob. "But really, if we all played like him we'd have won. It's just that we sometimes take him for granted and sit around watching him dominate. Today's game served as a wake-up call for the rest of the team."
New Orleans was led by Howie (31 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks), Dennis (5 points, 3 steals), Haines (11 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks). Dallas was led by Simpson (22 points, 7 boards, 4 assists, a steal), Robinson (18 points, 6 boards, 0 assists, a steal), Madison (21 points, 1 assists).
