CVBL: Houston Steals Spotlight from Chicago
Houston looked like champions today, beating Chicago 112-89. "That's the best we've seen them for a while," said an overwhelmed Chicago coach Bob. "None of the tapes we had of them showed the fluid execution that we saw out there today, and frankly we just weren't prepared as well as they were. I take full responsibility for that; with better preparation we could have won. Instead they just took over the game and never let us back in."
Houston was led by Sims (21 points, 7 boards, 3 assists, 5 blocks), Reyes (18 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, a block), Perry (16 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks). Chicago was led by Spann (20 points, 10 boards, 0 assists), Byrd (24 points, 0 assists), Bennett (14 points, 0 assists, a block).
Houston jump to 38-17. They stay at #2 in the Southwest and remain at #4 overall in the Western Conference. Chicago stand at 17-39 and 12-15 at home after the defeat. They stay at #4 in the Central and remain at #13 overall in the Eastern Conference.
