CVBL: Utah Steals Spotlight from Boston
Utah showed their mettle today with a convincing 100-76 win over Boston. "After some of the games we've had, I think we've left some doubt as to whether we can solidly beat anybody," said head coach Coach Young after the game. "I don't know that one game will erase those doubts, but I can certainly see the difference in the locker room."
The win came largely as the result of a great effort by Perkins, the Utah star. Said Coach Young of him, "The game would have gone down to the wire without Perkins's efforts today. He really made the difference between another tough battle and a dominating win."
Utah was led by Perkins (21 points, 2 blocks), Jones (20 points, 2 blocks), Burke (15 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, a steal, a block). Boston was led by Ball (10 points, 6 boards, 3 assists, a steal, a block), Shaw (15 points, 0 assists), Jackson (11 points, 2 blocks).
After this win, Utah improve to 43-13. They hold at #1 in the Northwest and remain at #3 overall in the Western Conference. After today's loss, Boston fall to 12-45 and 5-25 at home. They remain at #5 in the Atlantic and stay at #15 overall in the Eastern Conference.
