CVBL: Chicago Coasts Past Philadelphia
A great game by Meyers led Chicago to a 102-90 defeat of Philadelphia. Although Philadelphia certainly planned for Meyers in their pre-game strategy, stopping him during the game turned out to be more of a challenge. "We thought we knew how to beat Chicago, but we were dead wrong," said Philadelphia coach Bob. "We figured we'd try to put them out of their game plan and try to limit Meyers's effectiveness, but it simply didn't happen - he was just too good."
Said Meyers, "I knew I had a target on my back, and took it as a challenge. If they're going to change their game plan to stop me, it gives me that much more desire to step up and perservere. Anyway, they know what I can do now, so we'll see if they dare try this strategy again." Tune in next time.
Chicago was led by Meyers (22 points, 1 assists, 4 blocks), Horton (22 points, 6 boards, 3 assists, a steal), Sigler (12 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, 2 blocks). Philadelphia was led by Garcia (28 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, a steal, a block), Franklin (9 points, 9 boards, 0 assists, 4 blocks), Simmons (10 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, a block).
After the victory, Chicago stand at 35-21 and 21-8 at home. They stay at #3 in the Central and hold at #5 overall in the Eastern Conference. Philadelphia fall to 33-23. They remain at #2 in the Atlantic and hold at #7 overall in the Eastern Conference.
