CVBL: Portland Blows Past Orlando 102-69
An old-fashioned blowout was in the cards today, as Portland outscored Orlando 102-69. Neither the win nor the final score came as a huge surprise to some observers, who consider Orlando one of the most pitiful teams in league history. "They ought to drop down a couple divisions," said one pundit. "Today's game was just one more bit of evidence that they can't compete at this level. Maybe if they got a new coach and a new roster they could, but until then it's going to be more games like this."
Bob is hoping to turn things around a bit quicker. "We'll have to study the tapes tonight and figure out where they beat us. Some better preparation and we'll have no problems matching up against teams like this."
Portland was led by White (21 points, 12 boards, 2 assists, a block), Vanderveer (13 points, 6 boards, 4 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Jackson (12 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, 5 blocks). Orlando was led by Underwood (8 points, 6 assists, a block), Wright (11 points, a block), Obryant (6 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, a block).
Portland jump to 39-17 and 18-9 at home after today's win. They remain at #1 in the Northwest and improve to #2 overall in the Western Conference. Orlando fall to 24-32 with this loss. They stay at #2 in the Southeast and remain at #9 overall in the Eastern Conference.
