CVBL: Milwaukee Beats the Odds
Despite being dominated all day, underdog Milwaukee came away with the 112-111 upset of Indiana. "What a strange game," remarked Milwaukee coach Bob afterwards. "Indiana were by far the better team today, but couldn't get the win. If I hadn't been keeping track of the score, I'd have thought we lost badly. But somehow we came out on top."
The sense of disbelief was apparent in the Indiana locker room afterwards. "We thought we did everything right," said star Gray. "We executed our game plan, both on offense and defense, and did what we needed to do. But a few plays make or break the game, and those all went the wrong way. Just a demoralizing way to lose."
Milwaukee was led by Wilson (14 points, 6 steals), Daniels (18 points, 17 boards, 2 assists, 3 blocks), Dixon (13 points, 12 boards, 0 assists, 3 blocks). Indiana was led by Gray (31 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Lake (13 points, 10 assists, a steal), Wade (15 points, 9 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks).
Milwaukee broke their losing streak at 6 games, and are now 17-42 and 14-18 at home. They stay at #5 in the Central and remain at #15 overall in the Eastern Conference. Indiana fall to 33-26. They remain at #2 in the Central and remain at #6 overall in the Eastern Conference.
