CVBL: Milwaukee Upends Philadelphia 93-87
Milwaukee pulled off a huge upset today, beating Philadelphia 93-87. "An easy game on the schedule," remarked some Philadelphia players a couple weeks ago. "It'll be a nice day to rest up between some tougher games." Unfortunately those words were overheard by a reporter and ended up in the Milwaukee bulletin board. "No question, we were fired up about this game," said star Nichols afterwards. "Coach posted the newspaper clipping up, and we've been getting ready for this game ever since."
"I've never seen this team so eager to get out there and do damage before," said the winning coach, Bob, during his postgame interview. "I guess Bob ought to be putting duct tape over his players' mouths."
Milwaukee was led by Nichols (18 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Fiore (16 points, 3 assists, 3 steals), Judson (16 points, 1 assists). Philadelphia was led by Palacios (12 points, 1 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Austin (16 points), Wilson (5 points, 6 assists, 3 steals, a block).
With today's victory, Milwaukee improve to 17-41. They stay at #5 in the Central and advance to #13 overall in the Eastern Conference. Philadelphia stand at 37-21 and 21-7 at home after today's defeat. They remain at #1 in the Atlantic and hold at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference.
