CVBL: Miami 116, Atlanta 111
Torres led Miami to victory today over Atlanta in a 116-111 game. "It was a tough one to lose," said losing coach Bob. "I thought we had a great chance going in, and even now I think we'd have a great chance in a rematch. But Torres made the difference for his team, and we really didn't have an answer today."
Miami coach Bob was equally admiring of his star. "Atlanta were very well prepared for this game, and our boys weren't really ready for what they faced out there. I like to believe that we'd play a better all-around game when we play them again, but we'll be happy riding Torres and getting the win today."
Miami was led by Torres (12 points, 2 steals), Perry (21 points, 2 assists), Byrd (9 points, 3 assists, 5 blocks). Atlanta was led by Conner (32 points), Chandler (9 points, 5 boards, 14 assists, 2 steals), Baker (19 points, 7 boards, 1 assists, 3 steals, a block).
With this victory, Miami improve to 37-21 and 19-9 at home. They improve to #1 in the Southeast and move up to #3 overall in the Eastern Conference. After today's loss, Atlanta stand at 24-36. They fall to #5 in the Southeast and move down to #13 overall in the Eastern Conference.
