CVBL: Bob Watches Denver Win
Denver star Simmons led his team to a win today in a key game against Phoenix. Although standings were at stake, the game was as much about bragging rights as anything. The teams have a long history against each other that began when coaches Bob and Bob traded insults after an apparently intentional injury to one of Bob's players. Although Bob has long denied that there was any malicious intent, Denver fans don't believe it and turn out in large numbers whenever Phoenix comes to town.
Denver was led by Simmons (23 points, 12 boards, 0 assists, a steal, 4 blocks), Davidson (8 points, 16 assists, 3 steals, a block), Stanford (16 points, 6 boards, 0 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks). Phoenix was led by Bryant (18 points, 14 boards, 3 assists, 2 blocks), Bermel (8 points, 10 assists, 5 steals), Taylor (20 points, 2 assists, a block).
Denver jump to 43-17 and 24-7 at home with today's win. They hold at #1 in the Northwest and hold at #2 overall in the Western Conference. Phoenix are now 14-44. They stay at #4 in the Pacific and hold at #14 overall in the Western Conference.
