CVBL: Cleveland Takes Out Indiana
Smith's great game led Cleveland to a 115-93 upset of Indiana. "He really gave us the win," said winning coach Bob. "I think the rest of the team really felt intimidated coming in, but Smith showed them that we could pull off the win. You could really see the confidence build as time went on."
Johnson paced Indiana, but his effort was not enough. "It's easy to blame the star when we come up short," said Indiana coach Coach Hitch. "But really, if we all played like him we'd have won. It's just that we sometimes take him for granted and sit around watching him dominate. Today's game served as a wake-up call for the rest of the team."
Cleveland was led by Smith (20 points, 12 assists, 4 steals), Patrick (22 points, 3 assists, a block), Workman (19 points, 5 boards, 1 assists). Indiana was led by Johnson (14 points, a steal, a block), Cato (16 points, a block), Mccoy (8 points, 12 boards, 0 assists).
After the win, Cleveland are now 33-25. They remain at #5 in the Central and remain at #9 overall in the Eastern Conference. With the defeat, Indiana are now 36-21 and 20-10 at home. They remain at #2 in the Central and remain at #4 overall in the Eastern Conference.
