Memphis came up short today against LA Clippers, falling 94-85. "That was a really tough game to lose," said Memphis coach Bob after the game. "We came in thinking we could beat these guys. And we really played them well. But a few too many mistakes on our part kept us from getting the 'W'." One player who definitely can't be too downcast is Smith, whose outstanding game was one of the bright points for Memphis and caused some other teams to take notice.

LA Clippers was led by Brown (27 points, 12 boards, 0 assists, 4 blocks), Davidson (7 points, 7 boards, 14 assists, 2 steals), Murphy (13 points, 9 boards, 0 assists, a steal, 4 blocks). Memphis was led by Smith (25 points, 1 assists, 3 blocks), Hayes (12 points, 5 boards, 4 assists, 3 blocks), Jensen (16 points, 5 boards, 3 assists).
