CVBL: Phoenix Coasts Past Atlanta
Phoenix played a solid game today, beating Atlanta 109-97. Atlanta players and fans were expecting the game to be a bit closer, but everything went well for Phoenix today. "It was really frustrating," said Atlanta star Jackson. "I thought we were going to be ready for this game, but we just couldn't do anything against them." Coach Bob seemed perplexed early on, but made a few adjustments late in the game that were too little, too late in this game but may help his side out next time these two teams meet.
Phoenix was led by Celaya (39 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, a steal, a block), Dupree (27 points, 3 assists, a steal), Hunt (12 points, 11 boards, 0 assists, 5 blocks). Atlanta was led by Jackson (24 points, 19 boards, 1 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks), Mcnair (16 points, a steal, 3 blocks), Worrel (22 points, 1 assists, 2 blocks).
With this win, Phoenix improve to 32-30. They hold at #3 in the Pacific and hold at #9 overall in the Western Conference. Atlanta stand at 34-26 and 21-10 at home. They remain at #1 in the Southeast and remain at #3 overall in the Eastern Conference.
