CVBL: Bob Ecstatic as Boston Upset Cleveland
Golden's great game led Boston to a 102-88 upset of Cleveland. "He really gave us the win," said winning coach Bob. "I think the rest of the team really felt intimidated coming in, but Golden showed them that we could pull off the win. You could really see the confidence build as time went on."
Smith paced Cleveland, but his effort was not enough. "It's easy to blame the star when we come up short," said Cleveland coach Bob. "But really, if we all played like him we'd have won. It's just that we sometimes take him for granted and sit around watching him dominate. Today's game served as a wake-up call for the rest of the team."
Boston was led by Golden (10 points, 19 boards, 3 assists, 3 blocks), Flake (19 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, a block), Williams (11 points, 8 boards, 3 assists). Cleveland was led by Smith (13 points, 2 steals), Bravo (12 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, 4 blocks), Patrick (10 points, 2 assists, a block).
With the victory, Boston jump to 20-41. They hold at #5 in the Atlantic and remain at #15 overall in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland are now 33-26 and 21-10 at home with this defeat. They remain at #5 in the Central and stay at #9 overall in the Eastern Conference.
