CVBL: Brooklyn Stuns Memphis
A new-look Brooklyn team shocked Memphis today, winning 113-102. "Wow," remarked Memphis coach Bob. "We came in thinking we knew what to expect, but we were sure wrong. [Brooklyn coach] Bob really did his job preparing for the game, and has turned his team around. If they can keep it up, they'll be a force to be reckoned with."
Said Bob, "The players have struggled a bit with our system here. It's nice to see things finally start to sink in. I also have to thank Alves. I think some of the players were a bit intimidated coming in, but after he started dominating the whole team rode the wave."
Brooklyn was led by Alves (15 points, 15 boards, 2 assists, 4 blocks), Spring (29 points), Jeanlouis (18 points, 3 assists). Memphis was led by Sigler (36 points, 10 boards, 2 assists, a steal, 4 blocks), Hayes (14 points, 4 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Maxwell (17 points).
Brooklyn jump to 28-30 and 17-14 at home. They remain at #3 in the Atlantic and improve to #5 overall in the Eastern Conference. With the defeat, Memphis stand at 46-14. They stay at #1 in the Southwest and hold at #2 overall in the Western Conference.
