CVBL: Brooklyn 94, Charlotte 84

Charlotte failed to make the most of their chances, coming up short 94-84 against Brooklyn in today's contest. "They got a gift, no question in my mind," grumbled Charlotte coach Bob. "We outplayed them today, but just couldn't come up with the big plays when we were threatening to score. I just can't wait until the rematch; we'll show them who's really the best."

Brooklyn coach Bob saw things a little differently. "I'm proud of our defensive effort today. They avoided giving up the big plays, and really came through in the key situations. Bob may blame his offense, but they'd have been able to score if they didn't have good opposition."

Brooklyn was led by Owens (25 points, 5 boards, 4 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Jackson (9 points, 3 steals), Jeanlouis (14 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks). Charlotte was led by White (26 points, 7 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks), Starks (12 points, 7 assists, 2 steals), Plungis (10 points, 12 boards, 2 assists, a block).

Brooklyn jump to 40-19 after the win. They hold at #1 in the Atlantic and remain at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference. Charlotte stand at 38-23 and 21-8 at home. They remain at #2 in the Southeast and hold at #4 overall in the Eastern Conference.
