CVBL: Detroit Over Orlando 95-91
Detroit overcame a great game by Buchanan, beating Orlando 95-91. "It's a team sport," said losing coach Bob. "If we had another couple players like Buchanan out there, we'd have won this game easily. But we didn't, so we didn't." Bob has been under fire lately, and the lackluster performance by his players (save Buchanan) certainly doesn't improve his job security any.
The normally-quiet Buchanan was less than satisfied after the game. "I feel betrayed - like I did my best and my teammates didn't. I don't know if it was coach's fault for not getting the team up, or if the other players just all had an off day at the same time. But this was a close game, we had our chances, and we didn't execute when we needed."
Detroit was led by Delgado (26 points, 6 boards, 0 assists, 3 blocks), Henderson (11 points, 25 boards, 1 assists), Kay (19 points, 4 assists). Orlando was led by Buchanan (37 points, 0 assists), Wright (25 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks), Dixon (10 points, 13 boards, 0 assists).
Detroit are now 46-14 and 23-6 at home. They hold at #1 in the Central and stay at #1 overall in the Eastern Conference. With this loss, Orlando drop to 25-35. They remain at #3 in the Southeast and remain at #9 overall in the Eastern Conference.
