CVBL: Orlando Pulls Out Upset of Cleveland

A walk in the park for Cleveland turned into a nightmare, as Orlando pulled off the upset in today's showdown. As usual after a surprise loss, the finger pointing came after the game in the Cleveland locker room. "Coach didn't really bother preparing us for this game. We'd already been watching films of our next opponent," said Smith.

Bob acknowledged that was true, but said "our next opponent is three times as good as Orlando. Of course we dedicate more time to preparing for them. I'm not faulting Smith, but if the rest of the team had played as hard we'd have won this game easily. It was a lack of effort, not preparation."

Orlando coach Bob could care less whose fault it was. "We're thrilled to get the win. They can make all the excuses they want, but we were the better team out there today."

Orlando was led by Small (12 points, 10 boards, 3 assists, 2 blocks), George (7 points, 10 boards, 4 assists, 4 blocks), Mack (20 points, 6 boards, 1 assists). Cleveland was led by Smith (23 points, 3 steals), Patrick (19 points, a block), Scurry (18 points).

Orlando snapped their slide at 9 games, and improve to 27-34. They stay at #3 in the Southeast and stay at #11 overall in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland are now 33-27 and 21-11 at home with the defeat. They hold at #5 in the Central and hold at #9 overall in the Eastern Conference.
