CVBL: Memphis Cruises Past Minnesota

A great game by Scott led Memphis to a 114-94 defeat of Minnesota. Although Minnesota certainly planned for Scott in their pre-game strategy, stopping him during the game turned out to be more of a challenge. "We thought we knew how to beat Memphis, but we were dead wrong," said Minnesota coach Bob. "We figured we'd try to put them out of their game plan and try to limit Scott's effectiveness, but it simply didn't happen - he was just too good."

Said Scott, "I knew I had a target on my back, and took it as a challenge. If they're going to change their game plan to stop me, it gives me that much more desire to step up and perservere. Anyway, they know what I can do now, so we'll see if they dare try this strategy again." Tune in next time.

Memphis was led by Scott (10 points, 18 boards, 3 assists, a steal, a block), Whitfield (16 points, 11 boards, 2 assists, 3 blocks), Manly (28 points, 6 boards, 1 assists). Minnesota was led by Edwards (27 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, a block), Tracy (15 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, a block), Kaplan (11 points, 6 boards, 0 assists, 3 blocks).

Memphis extended their winning streak 11 games and jump to 45-15 and 26-6 at home. They remain at #1 in the Southwest and remain at #1 overall in the Western Conference. Minnesota are now 17-43 after today's defeat. They stay at #5 in the Northwest and hold at #12 overall in the Western Conference.
