CVBL: Detroit Snatches Win over Dallas
Detroit star Martin led his team to a win today in a key game against Dallas. Although standings were at stake, the game was as much about bragging rights as anything. The teams have a long history against each other that began when coaches David Smith and Bob traded insults after an apparently intentional injury to one of David Smith's players. Although Bob has long denied that there was any malicious intent, Detroit fans don't believe it and turn out in large numbers whenever Dallas comes to town.
Detroit was led by Martin (24 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, a steal, a block), White (12 points, 12 boards, 0 assists, 3 blocks), Lacroix (15 points, 1 assists, a steal, 3 blocks). Dallas was led by Meyers (38 points, 9 boards, 0 assists, 2 steals, a block), Kay (11 points, 12 boards, 2 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Meyers (5 points, 2 steals).
Detroit are now 37-24 and 19-11 at home with this victory. They advance to #2 in the Central and move up to #5 overall in the Eastern Conference. With today's defeat, Dallas fall to 35-25. They remain at #2 in the Southwest and stay at #4 overall in the Western Conference.
