CVBL: New York Teaches Washington a Lesson
Crawford had a great game today to lead New York to a 112-84 rout of Washington. "Crawford played his heart out today, and the rest of the team followed," said Bob of his star's performance. "Admittedly this wasn't the toughest competition we've ever faced, but it's great to see a game where everything works as planned."
Faces were a bit longer in the Washington locker room. "Everybody knew that Washington are a great team and that it would take a flawless game on our part and some luck to beat them. But to lose by this kind of margin is disheartening. We were just completely ineffective out there. I'll have to look over the films and try to turn this into a learning experience. Certainly I can pick up some tips from Bob's coaching."
New York was led by Crawford (23 points, 8 boards, 0 assists), Powell (21 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, a steal, a block), Howie (18 points). Washington was led by Griffin (11 points, 8 boards, 2 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Borenstein (14 points, 7 boards, 1 assists), Hove (12 points, 2 blocks).
New York stand at 44-14 and 23-6 at home. They remain at #1 in the Atlantic and stay at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference. With the loss, Washington drop to 18-41. They hold at #3 in the Southeast and hold at #12 overall in the Eastern Conference.
