CVBL: No Contest as Philadelphia Stomps Washington
A great Philadelphia team and a mediocre Washington team met today, the result being an expected 114-85 drubbing. Philadelphia took control from the outset, never appearing troubled in the least. Said Philadelphia coach Bob, "We've got a good group of players this year, and they pulled off the win just like we drew it up. Frankly Washington isn't exactly tough opposition, but it was still nice to come out with the big win."
Washington coach Bob seemed resigned to the loss even before the game, saying "We're just hoping to keep them from running away with it and not look bad. Even that will take a bit of luck; we just don't match up with these guys."
Philadelphia was led by Norman (24 points, 4 assists, a steal), Sims (20 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, a block), Williams (16 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, a steal). Washington was led by Patterson (17 points, a steal), Washington (10 points, 7 boards, 1 assists, a block), Taylor (13 points, 1 assists, a steal).
Philadelphia are now 39-21. They stay at #1 in the Atlantic and remain at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference. With the defeat, Washington drop to 18-43 and 12-19 at home. They remain at #5 in the Southeast and hold at #12 overall in the Eastern Conference.
