CVBL: Miami and Chicago Down to the Wire
Miami beat Chicago 95-93 today in a great game. Although some pundits were predicting a blowout, the two teams delivered a memorable game that left the fans on the edges of their seats until the very end. "It's one of those games that nobody should have to lose," said Miami coach Bob. "I'm definitely glad it wasn't us."
Chicago coach Bob will be rethinking some of his choices for some time. "I thought we tried the right things at the right times, but of course hindsight is perfect. Obviously not everything we did worked, though, and in a game like this that could have made the difference."
Miami was led by Torres (12 points, 5 boards, 12 assists, a steal), James (11 points, 2 assists, 4 blocks), Dupree (18 points, 6 boards, 1 assists). Chicago was led by Sigler (28 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, a steal, a block), Meyers (20 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, 2 steals, a block), Joyner (19 points, 3 steals, 3 blocks).
Miami improve to 40-21 after the win. They stay at #1 in the Southeast and stay at #3 overall in the Eastern Conference. With today's loss, Chicago fall to 36-24 and 22-10 at home. They fall to #4 in the Central and move down to #7 overall in the Eastern Conference.
