CVBL: Sacramento Coasts Past New Orleans

Stanford led Sacramento to a big 101-90 win over New Orleans in this evening's matchup. "We figured we could play with them, but Stanford really surprised us," said New Orleans coach Bob. "He really took us out of our game plan, and we never really figured out how to stop him. We'll just have to hope for a more normal performance next time we meet, and hopefully the final tally will be a little closer."

Sacramento coach Bob was enthusiastic about his star's performance. "That was really something, wasn't it? Certainly we take a realistic expectation into each game, but it really gives the whole team confidence to know that Stanford can pull off a game like he did today."

Sacramento was led by Stanford (11 points, 15 boards, 2 assists, a block), Gilliam (13 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, a steal, a block), Daniels (24 points). New Orleans was led by Feaster (13 points, 11 boards, 0 assists, a block), Fleming (16 points, a steal), Obryant (5 points, 7 boards, 1 assists, 3 blocks).

With the win, Sacramento are now 53-9. They stay at #1 in the Pacific and remain at #1 overall in the Western Conference. New Orleans fall to 27-34 and 16-16 at home after today's loss. They fall to #5 in the Southwest and move down to #13 overall in the Western Conference.
