CVBL: Bob Satisfied With Memphis Win

Memphis showed who was the better team tonight with a convincing 105-91 win over Oklahoma Cty. Although not exactly a blowout, Memphis coach Bob and his players outplayed Oklahoma Cty from start to end. "I was hoping for a better outcome," said Oklahoma Cty coach Bob during a post-game interview. "But they just overpowered us, and there was nothing we could do to adjust. Bob's team was more talented and better-prepared, and it would have taken quite a bit of luck for us to overcome that."

The loss was tough on Oklahoma Cty fans, who had expected great things from their team after some offseason moves. "I think reality is starting to sink in," said one team. "We didn't expect to see other teams outplaying us this badly, but Memphis sure made their point."

Memphis was led by Brown (8 points, 14 boards, 5 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Jensen (22 points, 1 assists, a steal), Calloway (6 points, 3 steals). Oklahoma Cty was led by Johnson (25 points, 10 boards, 1 assists, a block), Judson (17 points, a steal, 3 blocks), Walston (12 points, 11 boards, 0 assists).

Memphis stand at 43-18 with the victory. They hold at #1 in the Southwest and improve to #2 overall in the Western Conference. Oklahoma Cty drop to 30-32 and 18-12 at home after this loss. They stay at #4 in the Northwest and remain at #9 overall in the Western Conference.
