CVBL: Oklahoma Cty Over Portland 109-102
The fans got what they came out for, as Oklahoma Cty won a seesaw 109-102 victory over Portland. "What a great game to have been a part of," said Oklahoma Cty star Frazier. "The momentum kept changing and neither team really had a chance to run away with the game. It just came down to having more in the tank at the end, and that was us."
Portland coach Bob was less enthusiastic about the game. "We had our chances to win the game, but didn't convert them. I'm most bothered that it seemed like we faded down the stretch; I think we may need to spend a little more time working on conditioning in the future. Regardless, it was a great game. Frazier and [Portland star] Ortega really put on a show for the fans."
Oklahoma Cty was led by Frazier (18 points, 11 boards, 2 assists, a steal), Plungis (19 points, 1 assists, 2 blocks), Ball (12 points, 2 steals, 2 blocks). Portland was led by Ortega (31 points, 12 boards, 2 assists), Johnson (24 points, 9 boards, 1 assists), King (8 points, 8 assists, a steal).
With the victory, Oklahoma Cty stand at 27-19. They stay at #2 in the Northwest and stay at #6 overall in the Western Conference. Portland fall to 16-30 and 9-14 at home. They hold at #5 in the Northwest and remain at #13 overall in the Western Conference.
