CVBL: Miami Embarrasses Utah in 101-71 Win
Not that anybody expected today's Miami-Utah matchup to be terribly competitive, but this was almost comical. The 101-71 final score was enough of a headline, but the game wasn't even as close as that score indicated as Miami coach Bob played it conservative most of the game to avoid running up the score too much. "Boy, it's great to see our offense click like that," he said. "It's like a gourmet restaurant - everything on the menu looked good." Said losing coach Coach Young, "We were just outclassed, no question. We don't have the talent they do, and we weren't as prepared coming in. And it was definitely classy of Bob to pull his key players halfway through the game."
Miami was led by James (29 points), Perry (6 points, 13 boards, 4 assists, a steal), Atwood (19 points, a steal). Utah was led by Brown (19 points, 8 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Williams (20 points), Lee (5 points, 4 steals).
Miami have won their last 5 games and stand at 41-21 and 22-9 at home. They remain at #1 in the Southeast and hold at #3 overall in the Eastern Conference. With the defeat, Utah are now 23-39. They remain at #4 in the Northwest and remain at #10 overall in the Western Conference.
