CVBL: Washington Teaches New Orleans a Lesson
Washington took New Orleans to school today with a textbook-quality 130-98 beating. The game wasn't even as close as the final score, as Washington coasted for much of the game on its huge cushion. "We just floundered around like idiots out there," said New Orleans star Dennis. "Even midway through the game we knew it would take a miracle to pull out a win against Washington."
Coach Bob admitted as much early in the game when he said, "We're getting beaten up like some high-schoolers. Even when it looks like we have a chance to do something, we can't. This just isn't a pretty game, unless you're a Washington fan."
Washington was led by Farlough (23 points, 9 boards, 1 assists, a block), Gibson (25 points, 2 assists, a steal), Hamilton (18 points, 2 assists, a steal, a block). New Orleans was led by Dennis (11 points), Fletcher (15 points, 7 boards, 1 assists), Taylor (11 points, 2 steals).
After this victory, Washington improve to 27-34 and 17-13 at home. They stay at #4 in the Southeast and stay at #12 overall in the Eastern Conference. After the loss, New Orleans fall to 34-27. They remain at #3 in the Southwest and hold at #5 overall in the Western Conference.
