CVBL: Dallas Beats Odds and Philadelphia
Dallas pulled off the upset, beating Philadelphia in a game where nobody gave them much of a chance. Their prospects certainly looked bleak on paper, with most predictions giving Philadelphia a solid win thanks to better skill at most positions. But head coach Bob came up with a marvelous game plan and kept Philadelphia coach Bob guessing most of the game. This, as well as a number of solid performances by Schmidt and others, gave Dallas the edge they needed to come out on top. "I think we caught them by surprise," said Bob after the game. "They played like they expected the win to be handed to them, but we made some adjustments after studying their tendencies and it paid off."
Dallas was led by Schmidt (16 points, 2 steals), Givens (24 points, 3 blocks), Langley (12 points, 9 boards, 1 assists, a block). Philadelphia was led by Wilson (11 points, 3 steals), Ferguson (10 points, 6 boards, 0 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Austin (12 points).
With today's victory, Dallas jump to 28-33 and 16-15 at home. They hold at #3 in the Southwest and hold at #11 overall in the Western Conference. With today's defeat, Philadelphia fall to 40-22. They hold at #1 in the Atlantic and remain at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference.
