CVBL: Brooklyn Steamrolls LA Lakers 104-77
A rock-solid Brooklyn team routed LA Lakers, 104-77. "It sure felt good out there," said today's star, Tucker. "We basically accomplished what we wanted to do on offense and defense. Coach's game plan worked perfectly."
LA Lakers coach Andreas Helmle was disappointed with the game, but not completely surprised. "Brooklyn is a great team, and we knew going in that if they played their best we didn't stand a chance. The only way we were going to win was if we got some breaks, and we didn't. But it was a great learning experience; they showed us our weaknesses."
Brooklyn was led by Tucker (27 points, 4 assists, a steal), Owens (16 points, a steal, 2 blocks), Cooper (19 points, a steal, a block). LA Lakers was led by Mcwilliams (15 points, 3 assists), Reynolds (8 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, 3 blocks), Dockins (14 points, 0 assists).
Brooklyn stand at 43-19 with the win. They hold at #1 in the Atlantic and stay at #1 overall in the Eastern Conference. LA Lakers stand at 13-47 and 9-22 at home after this defeat. They remain at #5 in the Pacific and remain at #15 overall in the Western Conference.
