CVBL: Bob Gets Big Win over Washington
Milwaukee overpowered Washington today, showing who is the better team. Most around the league expected this kind of result, but Washington head coach Bob was defiant until game time. "Underdogs, my ----. We've got enough talent and enough heart to play with anybody in the league." Afterwards, his tune had changed significantly. "We've got some work ahead of us before we can play at their level."
The only bright point for Washington was the great play by Gibson, and Bob was quick to praise his star. "If the whole team had played with his energy, we'd have been able to play with Milwaukee. The bright side is that we know what he can do against them, and we'll try to build on that for our next meeting."
Milwaukee was led by Mcclendon (11 points, 7 boards, 8 assists, 2 steals), Valentine (17 points, 11 boards, 2 assists), Thomas (18 points, 8 boards, 2 assists). Washington was led by Gibson (24 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, a steal), Gavagan (14 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, 3 blocks), Farlough (16 points, 12 boards, 0 assists).
Milwaukee jump to 43-19 and 23-9 at home. They stay at #1 in the Central and stay at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference. Washington snapped their winning streak at 6 games, and stand at 27-35. They remain at #4 in the Southeast and hold at #12 overall in the Eastern Conference.
