CVBL: Detroit Schools New York

Even the most loyal of New York fans left today's game early, as they got pounded 119-92 by Detroit. "If I had wanted to watch this quality of play, I'd have watched my kid's pee-wee game," said one upset fan. "I mean, they were committing mistakes left and right. Maybe they'd have lost anyway, but Detroit got this game handed to them on a silver platter. It's been this way ever since Bob took over as head coach of the team; hopefully enough of these losses and we'll be rid of him."

New York players were quick to defend their embattled coach, though. "It's not him, it's us. He's not the one out there playing the game." Nobody can deny, however, that Bob was the one who prepared the team. Time will tell whether he survives or not.

Detroit was led by Gilliam (25 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, a steal, a block), Kay (22 points, 3 assists), Henderson (15 points, 10 boards, 1 assists, a block). New York was led by Crawford (14 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, a block), Powell (7 points, 15 boards, 0 assists, a block), Battle (16 points, a block).

After the win, Detroit improve to 55-6 and 32-0 at home. They stay at #1 in the Central and remain at #1 overall in the Eastern Conference. New York stand at 44-16. They stay at #1 in the Atlantic and hold at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference.
