CVBL: Charlotte Pulls Off Upset over Philadelphia
Neal's great game led Charlotte to a 106-97 upset of Philadelphia. "He really gave us the win," said winning coach Bob. "I think the rest of the team really felt intimidated coming in, but Neal showed them that we could pull off the win. You could really see the confidence build as time went on."
Eatmon paced Philadelphia, but his effort was not enough. "It's easy to blame the star when we come up short," said Philadelphia coach Bob. "But really, if we all played like him we'd have won. It's just that we sometimes take him for granted and sit around watching him dominate. Today's game served as a wake-up call for the rest of the team."
Charlotte was led by Neal (16 points, 10 assists, 2 steals, a block), Gonzalez (14 points, 17 boards, 1 assists), Morse (31 points, a block). Philadelphia was led by Eatmon (23 points, 9 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Blunt (13 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Ferguson (10 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks).
