CVBL: New Orleans Gets Easy Win
New Orleans showed who was the better team tonight with a convincing 110-93 win over San Antonio. Although not exactly a blowout, New Orleans coach Bob and his players outplayed San Antonio from start to end. "I was hoping for a better outcome," said San Antonio coach Bob during a post-game interview. "But they just overpowered us, and there was nothing we could do to adjust. Bob's team was more talented and better-prepared, and it would have taken quite a bit of luck for us to overcome that."
The loss was tough on San Antonio fans, who had expected great things from their team after some offseason moves. "I think reality is starting to sink in," said one team. "We didn't expect to see other teams outplaying us this badly, but New Orleans sure made their point."
New Orleans was led by Fletcher (18 points, 14 boards, 0 assists, a steal, a block), Howie (20 points, 2 assists, a block), Taylor (8 points, 2 steals). San Antonio was led by Duncan (13 points, 9 boards, 3 assists, a steal), Dick (12 points, 7 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks), Mudd (15 points, 5 boards, 2 assists).
With the win, New Orleans are now 36-27 and 18-10 at home. They hold at #3 in the Southwest and stay at #5 overall in the Western Conference. San Antonio drop to 32-32 after the loss. They hold at #4 in the Southwest and hold at #7 overall in the Western Conference.
