CVBL: Detroit Cruises to 114-101 Win over Oklahoma Cty
Detroit brushed past an overmatched Oklahoma Cty team today 114-101. Always politically correct, Detroit coach David Smith stated simply "We just managed to do what we needed to get done out there. The players had solid execution all around, and Price's effort helped set the pace. Oklahoma Cty is a team we've had success against in the past, which I think gave us a bit more confidence coming in."
Oklahoma Cty coach Bob was a little more frank. "We knew going in that we'd need a miracle to beat Detroit, and we didn't get it. They have better players and a better coach, and did what they were supposed to do out there. I'm just glad the final score wasn't even worse."
Detroit was led by Price (7 points, 3 steals), Lacroix (17 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), White (6 points, 7 boards, 5 assists, 2 blocks). Oklahoma Cty was led by Pollard (5 points, 4 steals), Owens (16 points, 2 blocks), Schab (23 points).
Detroit stand at 39-25 with the win. They move up to #2 in the Central and improve to #5 overall in the Eastern Conference. Oklahoma Cty are now 25-39 and 15-17 at home with this loss. They hold at #3 in the Northwest and hold at #9 overall in the Western Conference.
