CVBL: Miami Express Steamrolls Cleveland 104-97
Cleveland failed to make the most of their chances, coming up short 104-97 against Miami in today's contest. "They got a gift, no question in my mind," grumbled Cleveland coach Bob. "We outplayed them today, but just couldn't come up with the big plays when we were threatening to score. I just can't wait until the rematch; we'll show them who's really the best."
Miami coach Bob saw things a little differently. "I'm proud of our defensive effort today. They avoided giving up the big plays, and really came through in the key situations. Bob may blame his offense, but they'd have been able to score if they didn't have good opposition."
Miami was led by Perry (26 points, 13 boards, 4 assists, a steal, a block), Crandell (7 points, 15 boards, 3 assists, 3 steals), Dupree (23 points, 0 assists, a steal). Cleveland was led by Smith (16 points, 5 boards, 11 assists, 4 steals, a block), Bravo (17 points, 2 assists, 3 blocks), Scurry (21 points, 5 boards, 1 assists).
With today's win, Miami stand at 44-21 and 24-9 at home. They remain at #1 in the Southeast and hold at #3 overall in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland are now 35-29 with the defeat. They remain at #5 in the Central and stay at #9 overall in the Eastern Conference.
