CVBL: Oklahoma Cty Slips Past Chicago

Oklahoma Cty survived a great Chicago outing, winning 123-115 in overtime. It was supposed to have been an easy game, but Chicago coach Bob had his team well-prepared and able to complete with favored Oklahoma Cty. Said Smith, "We thought Coach's pep talk was a little far-fetched, when he was telling us that we had the talent and game plan to win this game. But he was right; we had our chances to win and didn't. Still we have to feel good about what we proved against a great team like Oklahoma Cty."

Oklahoma Cty coach Bob was clearly relieved to have gotten the win. "That was a great team we played against today - don't let their record fool you. I thought we played a solid game, and even that wasn't enough to win during regulation."

Oklahoma Cty was led by Stanford (29 points, 5 boards, 5 assists, a steal), Golden (17 points, 18 boards, 2 assists), Hernandez (8 points, a steal). Chicago was led by Smith (28 points, 1 assists, 3 blocks), Johnson (16 points, 11 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks), Cobbs (21 points, 1 assists, 2 blocks).

Oklahoma Cty are now 41-24. They stay at #2 in the Northwest and remain at #5 overall in the Western Conference. Chicago stand at 19-45 and 13-17 at home. They remain at #4 in the Central and remain at #13 overall in the Eastern Conference.
