CVBL: Brooklyn Breaks out Whoopin' Stick
Anytime Brooklyn square off with Washington, unexpected things happen. Today it was Washington head coach Bob who gave Brooklyn bulletin-board material and ended up eating crow, thanks to some ill-timed comments he made earlier in the day. Two hours before game-time, Bob said that "Brooklyn shouldn't even show up tonight. We're pumped, we're on a hot streak, and we're just better. We're gonna win so big Brooklyn might never recover." After the game, the only one from Brooklyn to speak was head coach Bob, who said simply, "Scoreboard, baby." Final score: Brooklyn 110, Washington 85.
Brooklyn was led by Jackson (10 points, a steal), Owens (25 points, 2 assists), Tucker (20 points, a steal). Washington was led by Hamilton (18 points, 0 assists, a block), Gibson (14 points, a steal), Olmsted (13 points).
With this win, Brooklyn are now 44-19 and 26-8 at home. They remain at #1 in the Atlantic and stay at #1 overall in the Eastern Conference. Washington fall to 27-36 with the loss. They hold at #4 in the Southeast and stay at #12 overall in the Eastern Conference.
