CVBL: Memphis Gets Easy Win
A collapse by Indiana led to a 92-80 beating by Memphis, increasing the pressure on the Indiana coach. Coach Hitch had to suffer through the game as his players were ineffective and his former fans were heckling. To make matters worse, the team was dominated by hated Memphis, a bad thing for any Indiana coach.
"That ---- man can't win a ---- game if his ---- life depended on it!" screamed one disgruntled fan, who is obviously tired of Indiana losing ways. While Indiana deny it, rumors about that they have already started a search for a new coach who can turn this franchise around.
It was just more fuel for the fire today when Memphis took Indiana behind the woodpile for a 92-80 whooping. Although Vegas was predicting a Memphis win, many people believed the Indiana certainly had the talent to knock them off. Mccoy did everything in his power to help his coach, but in the end Chatman led the Memphis to victory.
"You hate to see somebody with Coach Hitch's character go through this. It's just a sad sight," commented Memphis coach Bob. "We're obviously delighted to get the victory over such a worthy adversary in a big rivalry game like this, and all I can do is credit my players, my assistants, and our fans."
Memphis was led by Chatman (15 points, 5 boards, 13 assists, 2 steals, a block), Calloway (25 points, 0 assists), Whitfield (6 points, 17 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks). Indiana was led by Mccoy (12 points, 12 boards, 1 assists), Williams (16 points, 2 assists, a steal), Cato (9 points, a block).
With this win, Memphis stand at 52-16 and 28-6 at home. They remain at #1 in the Southwest and move up to #1 overall in the Western Conference. With this defeat, Indiana stand at 39-30. They stay at #4 in the Central and remain at #8 overall in the Eastern Conference.
